Hence, we have listed three ways in which you can take a screenshot on iPhone 12.

1. Using the Power and Volume Buttons

Perhaps the most common way of taking a screenshot on any smartphone is by using the side buttons. You can take a screenshot using this method with an iPhone 12 too:

Step 1: Open the page or post which you want to take a screenshot of.

Step 2: Press the “Power” and “Volume Up” buttons simultaneously.

Step 3: Release the buttons once the screenshot has been captured. This will be indicated by the screenshot popping up on the bottom left corner, as shown in the image below.

2. Using Assistive Touch

Another quick and easy way to take a screenshot on iPhone 12 is through the Assistive Touch feature. Let me take you through the steps required to enable this option and capture screenshots.

Step 1: Open the settings of your iPhone 12 and tap on “Accessibility > Touch.”

Step 2: Click on “Assistive Touch” and turn it on. This will make a grey dot appear on the screen.

Step 3: Tap on “Customize Top Level Menu” to open the settings panel.

Step 4: Click on “+” and then select “Screenshot” from the list that appears to add its icon to the menu.

Step 5: This will take you back to the “Assistive Touch” menu, from where you can click on “Single Tap” and tick “Open Menu.” 

This option will open up a menu whenever you click on the grey dot to select the required action. (Screenshot in this case)

Step 6: Now, whenever you want to take a screenshot on your iPhone 12 using Assistive Touch, all you have to do is to tap on the grey dot and select “Screenshot” from the menu that appears. The captured screenshot will pop up, as shown in the image below.

3. Using Siri

The third and most easy way to take a screenshot on your iPhone 12 is via Siri. This method is convenient if you want to go hands-free. All you have to do is:

Step 1: Open the page you want to take a screenshot of.

Step 2: Simply say, “Hey Siri, take a screenshot!” 

Siri will take the screenshot, and it will be saved to your camera roll without you having to move a finger.

How to View Screenshots

Viewing screenshots on your iPhone 12 is quite straightforward and can be done in 2 ways: 

Method 1: Right after you take a screenshot, it appears on the bottom-left of your screen in the form of a pop-up. You can click on it to view the screenshot instantaneously.

Method 2: Alternatively, you can access the “Screenshots” folder in your iPhone’s gallery to view all the screenshots you have taken in the past. 

Click on "Screenshots."

How to Edit Screenshots using Instant Markup

Once you have taken a screenshot using any of the above methods, you can tap on the screenshot pop-up that appears on the bottom left of your iPhone screen to enable the Instant Markup feature.

1. Draw or Scribble

You will see an array of marking tools, including pen, highlighter, marker, and pencil, using which you can draw or scribble on the screenshot.

You can select the “Eraser” tool to erase your drawings or scribbles on the screenshot.

3. Crop 

You can drag the borders of the screenshot to crop it to your desired ratio.

Tap on the “Colour Palette” and access tons of colors to choose from for your font.

Click on “+’ to open more editing options. Click on the shapes listed at the bottom to add a square, circle, speech bubble, or arrow to the screenshot.

6. Additional Tools

By clicking on “+’, you can access other editing tools like adding text or signature to the screenshot. You can also tap on “Magnifier” to zoom in/out of the image.

After editing the screenshot, click on “Done” to save it. You can also share it with your friends or to your social media accounts by clicking on “Share.”
