Every now and then, you might need to delete some contacts from your iPhone. But, if you’re selling your phone or giving it away, you need to delete all your contacts at once or transfer them to another iPhone. And this is where the problem arises, as Apple’s software only allows you to delete one contact at a time.

But don’t worry! We have a method that involves iCloud, using which you can delete all your contacts at once, whether they are 100 or 1000!

How to Remove all Contacts on an iPhone Using iCloud

For this method to work, you will first have to move all of your contacts from your iPhone or iPad to iCloud

Here’s how to do this:

Step 1:

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords > iCloud..

go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords > iCloud..
From Settings, select Accounts & Passwords, and then iCloud

Step 2:

From the iCloud menu, turn off the toggle for “Contacts.”

From iCloud, turn off the Contacts

Step 3:

As soon as you turn off the toggle, a pop-up will appear asking you to “Keep on My iPhone” or “Delete from My.” iPhone.” Choose the first option to keep the contacts.

From the pop-up notification, choose Keep on My iPhone

Step 4:

Now, go back to the iCloud menu, but this time turn on the toggle for Contacts.

Step 5:

Another pop-up will appear, asking you to “Merge” all the contacts with iCloud.

Turn on Contacts again and select Merge

Step 6:

Your contacts are now all stored in iCloud. Toggle Contacts off once more and select “Delete from my iPhone” on the popup that appears.

Toggle off Contacts and select Delete from My iPhone from the pop-up notification

Step 7:

Return to the “Passwords & Accounts,” and for each account (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), turn the toggle off for contacts and select “Delete from My iPhone.”

Select your Gmail, Yahoo, or any other account that you have already

Step 8:

The only contacts you should have left now are those from Facebook. Go to Settings > Facebook, and turn the toggle off for “Contacts” to delete them.

This is by far the most straightforward method for removing all contacts from your iPhone. However, if your ultimate purpose is to remove everything from your iPhone in preparation for selling or giving it away, simply resetting it is even easier.
