Contacts are not the only thing people lose when switching phones with different operating systems; sometimes you lose your cherished photos too!

The reason?

Lack of features to directly transfer photos from Android to iOS

But thanks to certain third-party tools that aid in smoothly transferring photos from one phone to the other.

In this guide, we’ll cover two of the methods on how to transfer photos from Android to iPhone: With and without a computer.

Transfer Photos from Android to iPhone With a Computer

If you have a computer at hand, you can easily transfer your photos from an Android device to an iPhone. This process consists of two steps:

  1. Transfer Photos from Android to PC
  2. Transfer Android Photos from PC to iPhone

First Step – Transfer Photos from Android to PC

The first step in this process is to transfer photos from an Android device to your PC. For this, you will have to follow the steps given below:

Step 1

Connect your Android device to a computer.

Step 2

You will get a notification on your Android device “Charging this Device via USB.” Click on this notification and select “File Transfer” from the USB Preferences menu.

Change USB Preferences to ‘File Transfer’

Step 3

Now, on your PC, open the “File Explorer” indicated by a folder icon in the taskbar.

 open the “File Explorer”

Step 4

From the menu at the left, go to “This PC” and double-click on the name of your device.

Double-click on the name of your Android device from ‘This PC’

Step 5

Now go to “Internal Shared Storage > DCIM > Camera” to access the images from your Android device.

Go to the DCIM or Pictures folder to find the images that you want to transfer

Step 6

On your desktop, make a new folder by the name of “Android Photos” or any other name of your choice, and drag and drop the photos from your Android device into it.

Make a new folder on your desktop and add all the photos you want to transfer from your Android device

Now, all the photos from your Android device have been saved on your PC.

This brings us to the second step of the transfer process:

Second Step – Transfer Android Photos from PC to iPhone

Now, it’s time to move your photos from the computer to your iPhone. For that, you’ll need a third-party tool. You can use CopyTrans Photo, AnyTrans, or others.

In this tutorial, we’re using CopyTrans Photo.

Step 1

Download the CopyTrans Photo app.

Step 2

Connect your iPhone to the PC and launch the CopyTrans Photo app.

Step 3

On the app interface, you’ll see photos from your iPhone on the left panel, and the PC folders on the right.

Step 4

From the PC folders, choose the folder in which you saved your Android photos, and drag and drop it in the panel on the left showing iPhone photos.

Drag your Android photos folder from the right to the left

Step 5

Now click on “Apply Changes” on the top-left corner, to save the Android photos to your iPhone.

Select ‘Apply Changes’ to save the Android photos folder in your iPhone

And that’s how you transfer photos from Android to iPhone using a PC.

But, in case you don’t have a PC, you can still transfer photos using a third-party app.

Transfer Photos from Android to iPhone Without a Computer

Third-party apps like Google Photos and AnyTrans app can easily help you transfer photos from one phone to another without involving a PC.

Read on to find out how.

With Google Photos App

If you’ve been using an Android device for a while, you’re probably familiar with the Google Photos app. For those who are unfamiliar, it is a Google service that allows you to upload and sync your images utilizing Google’s cloud service. You can use this service to transfer images from your Android phone to your iPhone.

Here’s how to transfer photos from Android to iPhone using Google Photos:

Step 1

Install the Google Photos app from Google PlayStore. Launch the app and sign in using your Google account.

Step 2

Now, tap on the three horizontal lines at the top and go to “Settings > Back up & Sync.”

Install Google Photos, sign in, and go to Settings

Step 3

Turn the toggle on for “Back up & sync.” It will allow you to sync the images on your Android device with Google Photos.

Tap on ‘Back up & sync’ from Settings

Step 4

Once all your photos have been uploaded to Google Photos, install the same app on your iPhone from the App Store, and sign in using your Google account.

Step 5

Go to “Settings > Back up & Sync” on the app to enable the backup and sync function.

This option will download all your photos from Google Photos to your iPhone.

Now let’s go through the steps to transfer photos from Android to iPhone using the AnyTrans app.

With AnyTrans App

As you can see, the procedure above requires uploading and downloading all of your images from Google’s cloud storage. The method, although safe and effective, takes hours to complete if your photo collection is huge.

However, If you don’t want to deal with the inconvenience and would rather transfer your photos quickly and easily, consider the AnyTrans App.

To carry out the transfer of photos, do the following:

Step 1

On both your Android and iPhone, download the AnyTrans app from the PlayStore/App Store.

Step 2

Launch the app on both devices, and make sure they’re on the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 3

On your Android device, tap the “Connect to Phone” button on the top and select your iPhone to connect both devices.

Step 4

On your Android device, tap “Local > Photos” and choose the photos you want to move to the iPhone. Tap Send.

Connect the Android device to the iPhone, select the photos, and press Send to transfer them to an iPhone using the AnyTrans app

Your photos will now be transferred from Android to iPhone without using a computer via the AnyTrans app.

Wasn’t that simple?
